Squircle Scan · Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-11-11

Your scan content is processed on-device. Online authorization uses separate verification data.

1. Local image and text processing

The app processes the photos you capture or select, corrected images, page layouts, OCR text, signing assets and output files to provide scanning and editing. Scanning, correction, layout and OCR run on your device. Document images, PDFs, OCR text, signatures, stamps and exports are not uploaded to developer servers for these operations or for authorization.

The app does not perform face recognition, create identity profiles, or automatically extract structured identity fields. OCR recognizes text when you request it; that text may include personal information present in the image. Imported content is not used for advertising profiles or model training.

2. Permissions and device access

Camera access is used to capture cards, passports, documents, signatures and stamps. The built-in album picker requests photo-library read access to browse albums and retain an ordered selection across folders for batch import. Depending on the Android version, this uses photo or storage read permission. If access is declined, you can use the system picker to select images; its selection experience depends on the system and provider. File/folder access is used for imports, exports and backups in locations you choose. Saving images to Photos on older Android versions can require storage write permission. Vibration supports interaction feedback.

The app does not request contacts, location, microphone or SMS access. Internet access supports the online operations described below. Help, Terms, Privacy and bundled license texts are stored in the app and can be opened offline.

3. Storage, backup and deletion

Saved scans and local assets are kept in app storage. Exported files and explicit backups are stored in the locations shown in Storage & Backup. OCR language packs are downloaded into app-private storage and can be deleted through their language-management interface. Settings backups can include reusable signing assets and preferences; scan/file backup scopes contain the corresponding content. Protect backups and passwords as you would the originals.

Use the app’s deletion/clear-data controls or the file manager for files you can access. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes app-private scans/assets and downloads. Independently chosen external exports/backups may remain until you delete them. Uninstalling does not itself delete a server authorization record.

System automatic backup and device-transfer backup of app data are disabled by this app’s configuration. To transfer saved scans or settings, use the app’s explicit backup and restore controls.

4. Sharing and external services

The app does not sell or rent your imported document images. When you choose Share or open an output in another app, the selected content is passed to that app/provider and is subject to its handling. Developer authorization does not receive the document content.

OCR pack downloads contact the configured download service. Authorization, downloads and their network providers can process connection information such as IP addresses to deliver the service and maintain security. Google processes integrity verification data under its policies.

5. Trial verification and purchases

To start the standard 7-day trial online, the app sends its application ID/version code, a SHA-256 digest derived from Android’s app-scoped device identifier, a one-time challenge and a Google Play Integrity token to the developer’s HTTPS authorization service. The service verifies app/device and request integrity before issuing a signed trial credential. It stores a keyed device digest and trial start time for up to three years after expiry to enforce trial eligibility and prevent abuse. Repeating startup does not restart or extend the trial.

Google Play processes purchases and restoration under its policies. The developer does not receive your bank-card number or full payment credentials in the app. The authorization service does not collect your Google account email address. Verified purchase/trial status is cached locally for the supported offline access; clock irregularities can require online verification. Expiry limits access but does not delete scan data.

6. Your choices and contact

You can choose which images to import, decline optional access prompts, manage downloaded language packs, delete local content and contact support@squirclescan.com about data handling, an authorization record or an incorrect rejection. Deleting an authorization record does not promise a new trial. We may need enough information to identify the relevant record; do not send identity-document images unless necessary for your support request.

7. Policy updates

Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page. The effective date identifies this version. Read Terms of Service for access and use conditions.
