Follow a scan from capture to export. Image tools and output actions require valid access.
Use ID Card for ID cards and passports, or Document for document pages. For ID cards, choose 1 Side for one card side or passport image per page, 1 Card for the front and back of one card on a page, or 2 Cards for both sides of two cards on a page. In Document mode, each document image is processed as a separate page.
The first-launch tour introduces these choices. Start scanning opens the selected mode; it does not itself start the standard 7-day trial. Just looking around lets you explore. Scanning requires valid access; follow the access prompt when shown.
Before capture or import, choose paper and orientation while the task is empty. The empty ID Card screen provides a paper selector; the empty Document paper preview also supports the paper-orientation gesture. Paper sizes include A3, A4, A5, B5, Letter, Legal and custom sizes. Choose a built-in or custom card/passport size that matches the original. In 2 Cards, check the size for each card.
Card spacing is available only in 1 Card and 2 Cards. Fit Original keeps the selected individual card sizes. Uniform Size uses the dimensions of the smaller-area card for both; this can change the original size of the larger card.
After capture, Layout provides spacing where applicable, horizontal and vertical offsets, centering, Page safe margin and page numbers. Margin guides are preview aids and are not exported. Keep important content inside the safe margin. The print size follows your selected size and any scaling, not a measurement of the photographed object.
Use Camera to take multiple photos in succession, or Album to select images in a batch. Follow the indicated front/back slots: 1 Card uses two images; 2 Cards uses Card 1 front/back and Card 2 front/back. Check the image order before finishing.
A task accepts up to 100 source images: up to 100 pages in 1 Side or Document, 50 in 1 Card, or 25 in 2 Cards. A photo is one input image, not necessarily one output page.
The app automatically detects boundaries, crops and corrects perspective. Document processing also applies automatic appearance enhancement; correction is performed on the device. Results depend on the source photo. Keep the whole card or page visible, avoid glare and blur, and use More → Crop if the detected boundary needs correction.
Scanned Pages is the batch overview; open a page to work in Edit Pages. Album import and opening a camera thumbnail can take you directly into Edit Pages. Use Back to return to the batch overview when it is the preceding screen. Camera capture can continue collecting pages before you review the batch.
Processing pages show progress. Layout and image tools become available for a page when it is ready; they are disabled while that page is unfinished. If a Document page fails and its source is available, Crop can be used to review the boundary and retry.
In Scanned Pages, touch and hold a page, then drag it to another position to reorder it. The intervening pages shift; this is not a two-page swap. Selection mode lets you choose the pages for supported batch actions. Wait for processing to finish before exporting the batch.
In Edit Pages, open Layout. Adjust card spacing where applicable, horizontal and vertical offsets, centering and the page safe margin. If the content cannot fit, use an available size or layout adjustment. Paper-orientation changes are restricted to an empty, idle task; choose the direction before adding images.
When an Apply action offers a page range, choose the current page, selected pages or all eligible pages as shown. Check the preview after applying; page settings and Menu defaults serve different purposes.
In Edit Pages → Layout, open Page numbers. Turn numbering on, select a format and size, set the starting number, and optionally skip the first page. When numbering is off, its dependent controls are disabled. Page numbers normally reserve space at the bottom of the page.
If a Document page’s content is sideways on the paper, tap the page-number icon at the top-right of the paper preview, in Edit Pages → Layout or its Page numbers page (page numbers must be on). This switches the number to the left edge and changes its direction, and the page reserves space on the left instead of the bottom. Choose the current page, selected pages or all pages. Paper, image, signing and watermark directions do not change. Cancel keeps the previous state. Each page keeps its own setting; if space is insufficient, review any offered Shrink and apply action.
When you turn off page numbers on selected pages in a consecutively numbered task, applying the change asks whether to keep the other numbers or renumber the remaining numbered pages. Renumbering follows the current page order and keeps the starting number and each page’s number format, size and position. Closing the prompt returns to editing without applying.
When you turn page numbers back on, the app first checks whether other pages’ displayed numbers, formats or totals would change. If other pages stay unchanged and no number is duplicated, the numbers turn back on without a confirmation dialog. Otherwise, one prompt covers the selected pages. Keeping other numbers is offered only when it creates no duplicates; otherwise choose consecutive numbering or Cancel. If restoring the first page requires turning off Skip the first page, confirmation is always required. Cancel or closing the prompt leaves the task unchanged.
In the numbering prompt, rounded outlined options show the actual resulting sequence. Select an option, then tap Apply; selecting an option alone does not apply it. When only one outcome is available, review Now / After and confirm Renumber or Restore. Cancel leaves the task unchanged.
New pages are appended at the end. If all existing pages show one consistent consecutive numbering rule, new pages inherit it and continue the sequence, with totals updated. Otherwise, new pages use this task’s saved default page-number settings, without consulting current Menu defaults.
The page navigator shows the current paper page and the total number of paper pages. Printed page numbers may use a different total when some pages have numbering turned off. Turning off a page number does not remove that paper page.
Changing page-number settings updates the preview without repeated warning popups. When you apply Document settings, the selected pages are checked before anything is committed. If they cannot be applied, Changes not applied summarizes the failures by page range, for example a detected safe-area or content-overlap problem. Keep editing, close or Back keeps your draft; tapping outside does not close the dialog. A single available repair has its own button. When two repairs are available, select an outlined option and tap Apply; neither is preselected. This dialog does not discard edits. A page-numbering failure does not offer a current-page-only fallback, and Shrink and apply appears only when the document-space checks identify a supported repair. Export also checks the output and reports the affected page if numbering cannot be applied.
Open Signing → Add to see Preset scenes and Custom scenes in one list. Tap a scene to apply it to the editing preview; Add custom scene creates a reusable combination. Use the editor’s Apply and choose an offered page range to commit the changes. Six presets cover a basic signature, copy statement, signature with role/capacity, signature and stamp/seal, signed declaration, and signed and sealed declaration. If a required signature or stamp is missing, follow the prompt to create or select it.
Build scenes from statements, signatures, stamps/seals, names, roles/capacities, custom fields and dates. Draw a signature in the app, or capture/import a signature or stamp. In two-person scenes, select the relevant card/person before editing their details; the swap action exchanges the signing groups.
Page signing styles adjusts the applied page. Default signing styles in Menu → Layout, Signing & Watermark → Signing supplies defaults for newly applied scenes. Changing a page does not overwrite the default template. Text items use text styling; signature/stamp controls include size and rotation.
If space is insufficient, the app may adapt the signing layout or offer an adjustment. Follow only the options shown for the current page. Where a signing divider is draggable, moving it changes the space available above it; keep the resulting content and signing within the paper. Page-number space is also reserved.
Text-library selection windows keep a draft until Apply; Cancel or Back discards that selection. In a signature or stamp selection window, tap the asset image to apply it to the current signing scene. Saving a newly created asset to the library does not itself apply it. The first successful creation in this flow shows a one-time reminder; confirming Got it dismisses the reminder without selecting an asset. Scene selection itself applies on tap. Deleting a library item does not remove content already applied to pages or delete Auto-apply rules. Signatures, stamps and watermark text are visual additions, not identity authentication, certification or notarization.
Open Watermark, select saved text or add custom text to the list, then add the watermark to the page. Adjust it as needed and use Apply to commit. Creating a text-list entry alone does not apply a watermark. Watermark text is a visual label; it does not make a copy certified.
Use the available page-range action to apply watermark settings to other eligible pages. Removing an entry from the text library and removing a watermark already applied to a page are separate actions.
Edit Pages → More has the same tool order in ID Card and Document: Crop, Rotate, Filter, Mask, Mosaic, Text, OCR. In multi-image layouts, choose the image you want to change when prompted.
Crop: adjust the corners and apply correction again. Rotate: change image direction. Filter: adjust appearance, including brightness, contrast, white balance/color and available color, gray or black-and-white styles.
Mask: cover an area with a solid fill. Mosaic: obscure an area with a pixelated effect; it is not a secure way to remove sensitive information. Text: add text to the image. Review the exported result when hiding personal details.
OCR: recognize and copy text locally. The built-in recognizer supports Latin-script text, Simplified/Traditional Chinese and Japanese. Use the language selector to download additional packs for Korean, Arabic, Thai, Greek, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Telugu, Tamil and other listed languages. Downloads require internet; recognition runs on-device. Recognition may contain errors; check important text. OCR here extracts text and does not add a searchable text layer to exported PDFs.
Long-press an image in Edit Pages: open Replace, Save to Photos, Share. These image actions target that corrected image, rather than the whole composed paper. Replace opens capture/import for that slot and processes the replacement in its place.
Swap images in 1 Card or 2 Cards: with the whole page visible, hold an image and continue dragging it onto another image; release to exchange them. Hold at the left/right screen edge to turn pages, then drop over an image to swap across pages. This is unavailable in 1 Side, Document, isolated/zoomed image views or read-only mode.
2 Cards arrangement: the top-right arrangement icon switches between grouping by card and grouping by side, exchanging the top-right and bottom-left images in the four-image layout.
Zoom and page navigation: double-tap to zoom/reset; pinch to adjust zoom and drag to inspect a zoomed preview. When not zoomed, swipe or use the page arrows. While the task is empty and idle, long-press the paper to switch Portrait/Landscape. This orientation gesture is unavailable after images are added. Image long-press opens the image menu instead. Paper-size lists have a separate rotation icon, subject to the same empty-task restriction.
Save adds your scan to Files → Saved for later editing; processing alone does not save it. The Save control is disabled once current changes are saved. A camera draft may show a separate Save page action, which accepts that page into the batch and does not save the entire scan to Files.
Apply commits edits to the current working scan; it does not save the task to Files → Saved. You can continue editing from each applied result. When you leave a task with unsaved changes, choose Save, Discard or Cancel. This also applies to tasks opened from Saved or already saved once. Only choosing Save writes the task or overwrites its existing Saved record; Discard leaves that record unchanged, and Cancel keeps the task open.
Menu → Export options configures naming, output quality and ZIP options. Review these settings before exporting; opening Export options does not create output files.
Use Export to create JPG, PDF or ZIP output. Review the selected page range, file naming, quality and any password options. Exported files appear in Files → Exported. Saving a scan and exporting files are separate operations.
PDF password protection uses AES-128 and encrypted ZIP uses AES-256. Export passwords are not saved by the app; keep them securely. To print, open the exported PDF in a suitable external app and select Actual size / 100% instead of Fit to Page. Squircle Scan does not print directly. Calibration compensation in Menu → Layout, Signing & Watermark → Output setup provides a calibration-page workflow when physical print dimensions need adjustment.
Files → Saved contains your Saved scans for later editing; Exported contains output files. Open their available menus for details, deletion and supported file actions. Merge PDF combines selected JPG/PDF files into a PDF; merge details show source-page ranges.
Encrypt is a single-file action: a PDF receives an open password; a JPG is placed in an encrypted ZIP. Create ZIP packages two or more selected JPG/PDF/ZIP files, optionally with a password. Selected ZIPs remain ZIP files inside the new package and are not unpacked.
Menu → Storage & Backup manages export/backup locations, storage information, Backup, Restore and clear-data actions. Choose a backup scope: settings, Saved scans, exported files or a supported combination. Settings backup includes reusable signing preferences/assets. Restore offers the choices shown for the backup; review replacement options carefully.
Important: Clearing app data or uninstalling deletes Saved scans and files stored in the app’s folder.
Before either action, back up Saved scans to a separate folder. Backup and export require an active trial or purchase, and exporting does not replace a backup. To keep exported files after uninstalling, choose an export folder outside the app.
Menu → Layout, Signing & Watermark manages Paper, Card, Signing, Watermark, Auto-apply and Output setup. Tap More options (⋮) beside a custom size to edit or delete it. Auto-apply reuses the last compatible layout position/spacing, signing, watermark and safe-margin settings according to its switches and mode; it does not apply every setting indiscriminately to every mode. Review the preview for each new task.
Appearance & Theme offers Follow system, Light/Dark and accent themes; the launcher icon can follow the theme. Language changes the app’s interface language, independently of the OCR language selected for recognition. Help → View app tour replays the introduction.
Before the standard trial starts, or after it ends without purchase, scan content is read-only. You may view/delete Saved scans and view/delete existing exported files; settings, sizes and reusable asset libraries remain available. Creating/importing/editing scans, OCR, saving, exporting/sharing, copying results, packaging, backup/restore and screen capture require an active trial or purchase. After expiry, Saved thumbnails and opened previews show a trial-expiry watermark. Export necessary results before the seven days end; there is no free post-expiry export or retrieval period. A one-time Google Play purchase unlocks the full version without a subscription or automatic renewal. Eligible purchases can be restored; verified cached purchases work offline on an already authorized device. Reinstallation requires purchase restoration. An export already authorized and started may finish; expiry blocks new exports.
